Abstract

In this paper we present MusicMash2, an ontology- based semantic mashup application. The two main problems involved in building semantic mashup appli- cations of this type are, ¯rstly, a lack of populated do- main ontologies available on the Web and, secondly, the poor precision of standard search facilities provided by many folksonomy-based tagging systems. We show how our reusable infrastructure can address these two problems. Furthermore, to evaluate the bene¯ts of our approach, we compare MusicMash2 to its predecessor MusicMash, which is based on standard Web 2.0 tech- niques.
