Casquero, Oskar and Portillo, Javier and Ovelar, Ramón and Romo, Jesús and Benito, Manuel (2011) Evaluating the affordances of an iPLE Network in an undergraduate level online course. pp. 1-12. In: Proceedings of the The PLE Conference 2011, 10th - 12th July 2011, Southampton, UK.
PLEs are considered powerful tools to address the limitations of current eLearning implementations in higher education institutions as they provide new affordances that can be used to support new learning practices. But, to what extent does using a PLE dynamize or improve the learning process compared to traditional VLE/LMS eLearning implementations? This paper describes a case study about the evaluation of the educational affordances of an institutionally powered PLE (iPLE) in 2 undergraduate, inter-university and online courses offered to students from 9 spanish universities who belong to different degrees.
