Services which provide organization and support for the learning process in students PLE, should be designed and created also by themself. In 2010 we observed a hype of smart mobile devices among our students. In interdisciplinary computer science lab students create the idea of special map services for their life at the university. In the following months this idea became an interdisciplinary research project between computer science, geography and now communication science mostly leaded by students. Maps are the most important tools to visualize geographic data and information. Therefore digital maps are established as the information carrier in most of today's location-based services. The advantage of map-based mobile services towards conventional methods of way finding or orientation, like e.g. paper maps, is the dynamic adaptation to the context and personalization of the map. The value of a mobile service for way finding is quite obvious, but could other useful services for students be implemented for the mobile personal environment? Therefor we build a new mobile service for our students.
